Abstract	Esse trabalho aborda contribuicoes de Lev Vigotski sobre o uso de meios visuais no processo de ensino, examinando suas implicacoes para o desenvolvimento do pensamento do estudante. As analises de Vigotski sao consideradas no contexto do debate psicologico e pedagogico desenvolvido na educacao russa de seu tempo e revelam fundamentos de sua teoria psicologica. As contribuicoes de Vigotski abordadas nesse trabalho mostram discussoes psicologicas e didaticas relevantes para se pensar esses temas no processo educativo atual. Abstract This paper approaches contributions of Lev Vygotsky on the use of visual aids in the learning process, examining their implications on the development of students thinking. Vygotsky analyzes are considered in the context of psychological and pedagogical debate developed in the Russian education of his time and reveal psychological foundations of his theory. The contributions of Vygotsky addressed in this paper show significant psychological and didactic discussions to think about these issues in the current educational process.
