| Abstract | The present article describes the state of preparation for school management during the initial teacher training at the University for Pedagogical Sciences Jose de la Luz y Caballero de Holguin (Cuba). A factual diagnosis, based on the revision of documents as well as on interviews and surveys applied to students, directors and graduates, shows that the curricular conception of initial training does not include, intentionally, the goal of a basic preparation for school management. As a part of the extracurricular component of the training the role of the activity of the Pre-Reservist Special Pedagogics (PRE-REP) is outstanding; its orientation is towards the motivation and familiarization of students who have the disposition to and potentiality for future execution of management tasks and responsibilities. |
