| Abstract | This detailed article recounts the evolution of the sources of law on industrial property, from the very first national laws, to the major multilateral treaties, until the most recent bilateral treaties. The role of intellectual property in the framework of the integration systems was developed with particular attention and with a specific emphasis on the Andean system. In order to better understand the impact of the amendments that were introduced into the Andean industrial property regime, as a consequence of the recent bilateral commitments, the main elements of regional integration are developed from a legal standpoint on the one hand, and on the specific considerations of two important subjects, namely trademarks and patents, on the other hand. Bearing in mind the specific interest of the Venezuelan reader on the relationship between regional law and internal law, in particular with regards to the validity of regional legislation and the applicability of domestic law, reference is made to considerations that regroup the different points of view on the various alternatives. |
