| Abstract | This article aims to describe a specific type of spatial mobility, the circulation of Paraguayan “paseras” in the Argentine-Paraguayan border area of Posadas (Misiones, Argentina) andEncarnacion (Itapua, Paraguay), and analyze the new territorialities that it creates. Through a qualitative methodology based on interviews and participant observation, we present a typification of "places" that Paraguayan paseras walk along and build on the border. To organize our argument, first we describe the legalinstitutional framework governing the border and its consequences for the paseras’ practice. Second, we characterize the cross-border circulation in terms of trajectories and motivations, thus including goods, transportation and stops. Finally, we indicate and discuss the "places" that we have identified within this international circulation. |
