| Abstract | In Argentina, most of public policies focus on contraceptive care or reproductive health on the basis of the presumption of heterosexuality. The relationship that lesbian an bisexual women establish with gynecology and obstetrics services is an issue that is understudied within the social sciences. The objective of this article is to analyze and compare care practices related to sexual and reproductive heal of lesbian and bisexual women from middle and low sectors and their experiences with sexual and reproductive healthcare services. I developed a qualitative research, based on twelve semistructured interviews to lesbian and bisexual young women between 18 and 29 years of middle and low sectors of the City of Buenos Aires. I find that the existence of a health system that operates under the presumption of heterosexuality restricts lesbian and bisexual women to access to information related to prevention and care of sexual and reproductive health. In front of a State that fails to provide adequat care services, lesbian and bisexual women display a series of individual and collective strategies to address this deficiency |
