| Abstract | The Quality of Work Life has been an important factor in discussions about organizational process and job; the psychosocial aspects that surpass the aspects connected to process and proceedings in job, technological advances or organizational demands purchase relevance and worker has been changed into the center of attention of organizational managers to reach their objectives. Therefore, people who are engaged in professions like psychology begin to have recognized their role, whereas they would be ready to interfere in human behaviour and they would make working conditions that facilitate QWL and guarantee the organizational effectivity. This research had the main objective to characterize psychologists’ principal performances in promotion of quality of work life in job organizations. The sample was formed by six psychologists that work in distinct organizations, in region of Alto Vale do Itajaí at state of Santa Catarina, with medium or large importance and with industrial activities, that have actions or programs turning to quality of work life. The data were collected through indirect information source, semi-structured interview and institutional documents. The analisys of data enabled to identify possibles interventions by psychologists in the working up of a project and politics of QWL, in planning of the QWL programs, in sensitization of managers and workers, in execution and appraisal of QWL actions, in the program results comunication and the improvement of actions. The research proved that the psychologists are involved in QWL in work organizations holding essential activities to QWL programs effectivity and they pass over technical level to strategic level of acting. The research contributed to identify possibles interventions and relations between Psychology and quality of life in the job environment and to the construction of organizational psychologists’ role.
