| Abstract | The article concerns study trips organised by the Faculty of International Relations of the Polish Naval Academy (Akademia Marynarki Wojennej – AMW) between 2016 and 2019. The text consists of four parts. The first part outlines the theoretical approach to study trips as a teaching technique particularly useful in the study of international relations. A model of a study trip organised by AMW is presented. In the second part, the case studies of six study trips implemented by AMW are discussed and analysed. In the third part, the authors criticise study trips as a teaching tool used under the conditions of the Polish higher education system. In the fi nal part, the author suggests institutionalising study trips. In the authors’ opinion, they can become a new distinguishing feature of education in the Polish higher education system, responding to the challenges of the globalising world. |
