| Abstract | The political and economical relations between Spain and Argentina have changed dramatically after the independence of Argentina in 1816. This notwithstanding, the social contacts still remained, and the influence of Spanish culture was obvious as it is reflected in the exit of the theatre and music companies of the Bolero School that visited this region during the 19 th century. The principal aim of the present article is to demonstrate the pioneering role of the emerging artistic world in the process of establishing the social conditions for the intensification of cultural flows between Europe and the former Spanish colonies in southern region of America. The arguments are founded in the data rescued 2005 in the National Libraries in Buenos Aires and Montevideo within a research project sponsored by the Centro de Estudios Andaluces in Seville. |
