Abstract	This study aims to describe the principal leadership style and factors influencing principal leadership behavior in State Elementary School 1 Banyuasin II. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. Subjects in this study were principal, class I teacher (one) to class VI (six), sports teacher, teacher of Islamic education, some students of class V (five) and grade 6 students (six). Data collection techniques used in this study are observation, interview and documentation. Data were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Technique examination of data validity by using triangulation of source and triangulation technique. The results show that the leadership style used by principals in State Elementary School 1 Banyuasin II tends to a democratic leadership style. This can be seen from the principal's way of solving problems and making decisions. In solving problems and making decisions are always done with meetings, discussions and deliberations to staff and teachers. The principal always receives opinions, criticisms and suggestions from subordinates well, fieldy and sincere and participate actively in every activity in school. In addition, the principal always develops and prioritizes a sense of unity and unity such as togetherness and cohesiveness.
