| Abstract | This study aims to (1) (describe the implementation of the principal's democratic leadership style in improving teacher's professional competence (2) to find out the constraints of democratic leadership style of principals in order to improve teacher professionalism competence in SD Negeri Jembangan 02 (3) to describe the style implementation solution Democratic leadership of the principal in order to improve the competence of teacher professionalism in SD Negeri Jembangan 02. This research uses qualitative descriptive method Source of data obtained SD Negeri Jembangan 02. Technique of collecting data using interview technique, observation, and documentation. The results of this study are (1) Principal Democratic Leadership Style: (a) the principal is tolerant, consensual, with a common interest (b) gives teachers the opportunity to argue (c) align vision by promoting disciplined, (D) the headmaster undertakes scheduled planning for professional development (e) improves the ability of the teacher through training. (2) the constraints of the democratic leadership style of the principal in order to improve the competence of teacher professionalism in SD Negeri Jembangan 02 that is: (a) elementary school factor located in the village (2) the teachers are difficult to be disciplined, diligent in timely, , And dressed (3) teachers are less concerned in the quality of education using monotonic strategies (4) teachers do not master the computer due to lack of computer literacy.
