| Abstract | This paper constitutes a sequel to the paper presented in this journal and entitled: �Lexicographie et Traduction (1): Les differentes types de dictionnaire: classement et typologie�. We herein intend to adopt an approach to the most distinctive aspects of the inner structure of a dictionary: entries, articles, lexicographical definition and types of lexicographical definition. The study is focused on French language dictionaries, but its line of argument can be comparable to dictionaries produced in other languages. At all events, the main objective is to understand the inner structure of a dictionary and the type of information contained in this kind of lexicographical work so that the translator understands, for his part, its practical usefulness in the practice of translation. |
