Readability is based on the number words in a sentence and the number of syllables in a word. By bringing out average sentences and words, lengths obtained from these numbers, readability scores can be calculated. In this study, readability scores are figured out in order to find out how understandable the texts in Turkish textbooks. Two different formulas adapted to Turkish were used and compared. Informational and narrative texts were included, yet poems were not included. At the end of the study it was observed that narrative texts are more easily observed in terms of readability.
