Description	Journal: Physica Scripta Different techniques where lasers are used to measure natural radiative lifetimes of atoms are described. Particular attention is given to the question of accuracy. The different sources of error in lifetime measurements are discussed and also how they can be avoided by using either the fast-beam laser technique or the delayed coincidence technique with a mode-locked dye laser.
