| Description | Journal: Journal of Physics C: Solid State Physics The system with asymmetric gaussian couplings between neighbouring Ising spins on a 3D cubic lattice is investigated for various concentrations of negative bonds. The topology of the phase diagram is mapped out using two distinct Migdal-Kadanoff schemes. The two schemes differ in quantitative details but they both predict the existence of a mixed region of the spin glass phase. In this region domains are formed which results in a metastable effect of re-entrancy. This picture finds support in Monte Carlo studies of warming the system up from a local energy minimum. |
