Description	Journal: Journal of Physics E: Scientific Instruments An electron bombardment oven is described which operates at temperatures of about 2500 K. A calculation of the power requirement is given together with a calculation of the (unstable) current-voltage characteristic. Measurements are in good agreement with these calculations.
