| Description | Journal: Iop Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering PREFACE This issue contains the proceedings from International Rubber Conference 2018 (IRC 2018) which was held in Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from $4-6^{th}$ September 2018. The conference was organized by the Plastic and Rubber Institute of Malaysia (PRIM) under the auspices of The International Rubber Conference Organization (IRCO). With conferences theme of "Transforming Technology, Driving Innovation", The conference aimed to promote activities in various areas of rubber and polymer research by providing a forum for exchange of ideas, presentation of technical achievements and discussion on their most recent innovations, trends, concerns, issues and challenges encountered with the solutions adopted towards the new generation technology and innovation. The conferences consisted of 5 plenary talks and 150 presentations (oral & poster) from various country around the globe which includes; China, Czech republic, Germany, India, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Philippines, Russian federation, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, Singapore, Slovakia, United Kingdom, and United States of America. The conference encompasses all aspect of rubber technology research, development, and innovation, environment and market analysis. The conference were held in-conjunction with the $9^{th}$ International Rubber Glove Conference and Exhibition $(9^{th}$ IRGCE) and National Symposium on Polymeric Materials 2018 (NSPM 2018). The best selected 24 papers for publication in IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering is contributed from both IRC and NSPM 2018. All papers included in the conference proceedings were peer reviewed according to IOP Publishing standards. The success of IRC 2018 is a result of tremendous support and contribution from PRIM, key industrial player and sponsors, and of course, the enthusiastic response from all participants. The conference could not have happened without the commitment of the Organizing Committee, who helped in many ways to organize the conference. Finally, we are also very grateful to the contributors and reviewers for helping us to put together this proceeding. |
