Description	Journal: Journal of Physics E: Scientific Instruments The main areas where the measurement of gaseous oxygen is required are briefly reviewed. The basic principles of the methods and techniques which underlie the design of current oxygen sensors are outlined, and examples given of sensor designs used in commercial instruments. A brief look at future developments is presented.
