Description	Journal: Physics World As a classicist, I was interested to read your news story about Edward Bush and Ricardo Mansilla's attempt to study ancient poetic metre using modern methods of statistical analysis (May p11). This could be a worthwhile project, provided that it is handled sensitively and intelligently. However, the two researchers need to be aware of its potential limitations.
