| Description | Journal: Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics This paper reports the first detailed calculation of collision strengths for electron collisions with the open d-shell ion, . In this LS-coupling calculation, the 69 states of the target corresponding to the configurations and have been included, giving rise to a maximum of 192 scattering channels. Collision strengths have been obtained for the forbidden transitions between the even parity states, and subsequently integrated over a Maxwellian distribution of electron energies to yield low-temperature effective collision strengths. The inclusion of the and terms is shown to have a significant effect on the collision strengths for transitions between the states. |
