| Description | This chapter discusses the intravital microscopy has enhanced our knowledge on the different fields of hepatic immunity and biology. In addition, a range of nonparenchymal cells has been described as resident cells of this organ, for example macrophages and dendritic cells, as well as Ito cells, natural killers, and T and B-lymphocytes. In the face of a range of cell types, different tools have been proposed to identify these cells in a precise and specific way in order to study deeply the location and function of liver cells by imaging. However, the use of in vivo imaging allows us to explore, with detail, the hepatic vascular arrangement, allowing a detailed study, rich in images and videos, and even the visualization of hepatic blood flow and its distribution throughout the organ. The liver is one of the main, important organs in the body, performing indispensable metabolic and immune functions. Book Name: Imaging from Cells to Animals In Vivo |
