| Description | This paper presents a computational model for the prediction of orthodontic tooth movement with bone remodelling. A theoretical explanation is provided to sustain the application of the finite element method in successive linear elastic steps using a large Poisson’s ratio. Physiological considerations lead to a simple algorithm capable of simulating the alveolar bone remodelling. The proposed algorithm can be integrated in most of the commercial finite element codes.
