| Description | How do you know when tracking is becoming too easy? When your horse completes the trail with such ease, and possibly controlled speed, that he finds the bag in no time (Fig. 15.1). Vos walks into the arena and starts tracking for the bag. He circles left, then right, continuing like this for a long time. I am surprised because I thought the trail was not that hard. Was it too difficult for him after all? I want to look into this. Although Vos is still tracking, I decide, just this once, to lead him out of the arena so that I can lay a new trail. Vos does not let me lead him out though. The moment I make a move to do so, he strides up to the scent bag in a straight line and taps it. How curious. It seems like he was making his tracking last longer before pointing to the bag. Book Name: Scentwork for Horses |
