| Description | Nanoparticles (NPs) have played a significant role in the biomedical field by enhancing the bioavailability of drugs and reducing their cytotoxicity. Among the NPs used are noble metal compounds such as silver, gold, and platinum that are particularly unreactive and stable at high temperatures, thus providing more enhanced signaling, and facilitating their use as site-specific vehicles. There 272has been extensive interest to utilize noble metal nanoparticles as drug carriers. Verbascoside (VB) is a natural medical plant that has promising antitumor activities. The combination of VB and noble metal nanoparticles has been shown to enhance the antitumor activity of VB. In this chapter, we introduce our previous work on the VB-loaded Au and Ni nanoparticles as anti-tumor agents and propose future directions and challenges in this field.
