| Description | Building owners, managers and operators continue to face the challenge of “doing more with less”. An entire industry has emerged to facilitate this issue. Fault Detection and Diagnostic (FDD) software and technologies are solutions that provide actionable information to better utilize increasingly complicated buildings systems, reduce energy consumption in an environment of, dwindling or stagnating operating budgets. The primary driver for FDD solutions have been very attractive returns on investment. Now that traditional BAS companies are now providing FDD solutions, the question of where in the building's life cycle it makes the most sense to apply these solutions emerges. Irrespective of FDD solutions, one key obstacle that needs to be overcome is the inherent uniqueness of buildings typically designed by architects and engineers. One key building block for all FDD solutions is the development of a standardized point naming convention. Book Name: Automated Diagnostics and Analytics for Buildings |
