| Description | The life phenomenon of an organism is presented through proteins. A variety of different proteins are derived from the expression of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and genetic material ribonucleic acid (RNA). The DNA and the RNA contain all the genes of the organism. DNA microarray wafers, commonly referred to as biochips, have been commercialized since the early 1990s. Following the profound impact of DNA microarray wafer technology on biochemical analysis, various new-generation wafer devices are being developed on a daily basis. Microfluidic electrophoresis wafers and protein microarray wafers are two of the most representative new technologies. The concept of detecting DNA fragments using microarray wafers can be applied to the detection of proteins. Therefore, the design and fabrication of protein microarray wafers is quite similar to that of DNA wafers.
