| Description | This chapter first introduces readers to abrasive finishing machining process and their industrial applications, along with the surface roughness data obtained by these processes. Then, all industrially important abrasive finishing processes (honing, lapping, superfinishing, and polishing) have been explained with the aid of sketches. Honing operation's mathematical modeling covers the calculations for computing the honing tool's reciprocating speed, peripheral speed, and crosshatch angle. The engineering analysis of lapping operation includes computations of abrasive concentration and material removal rate (by two methods). Superfinishing process parameters' data range is tabulated, and a mathematical model is presented to calculate the superfinishing time.
