| Description | The three-dimensional (3D) printing (3DP) technology in civil engineering is a promising tool in the modern construction sector. This technology is extremely beneficial and it has been used in many areas such as food, construction, medical, mechanical equipment, aerospace, automobile, and other components of devices in the recent development. It is an outset of technology advancement. Some of its advantages include flexibility in design, optimizing the construction cost, completion of work in shorter duration, eliminating the errors, allowing greater freedom for architectural and structural designs, avoiding fatal accidents, etc. The 3DP has successfully adopted in the development of display models exhibiting the landscaping, site plans, structural framework, mechanical/electrical/plumbing models, and others in the civil stream. Many technologies have been described in the literatures successfully justifying the capability of the 3DP. But still, it possesses some limitations like the strength of the printed material is dependent on the efficiency, speed, and quality.
