| Description | Cross coupling reactions of organozinc reagents and organozinc-copper reagents with a variety of organic electrophiles provide novel methods for C-C bond formation chemo-, regio-, and stereoselectively (Scheme 7.1). The coupling of organozincs can tolerate a wide range of functional groups in either or both of the coupling partners. The transition metal catalyzed coupling of organozinc reagents has advantages over the conventional ones, such as good yields, mild reactions, and high regio–and stereoselectivity. In most cases, the reactions of organozinc reagents do not take place in the absence of transition metal catalysts, or they give quite low yields.
