| Description | This paper presents results of manoeuvring tests for a self-running ship model in deep, intermediate and shallow water conditions. The manoeuvring tests were performed for a 2.5 m length self-running ship model equipped with several motion sensors, actuators and communication system, where all signals are synchronized using a Compact-RIO from National Instruments. The tests were performed following the ITTC recommended guidelines and procedures. A total of 48 runs were performed for two types of manoeuvres, four water depths, two model speeds, and three rudder deflection angles. From these experimental tests the influence of the water depth was investigated, specifically the shallow water effects in ship manoeuvres.
