| Description | The behaviour of a nailed soil excavation is analysed using an elasto-plastic model based on F.E.M.. The nail tensile loads, the stresses on the reinforced mass and on the surrounding soil and the displacements are examined. The stress state resulting from this analysis is utilized to determine the position and shape of the most unfavourable slip surface required for the evaluation of the safety factor by a procedure based on the limit equilibrium method.
