| Description | Based on the Ackermann geometry the steering geometry, the space requirement, as well as the driving path of a vehicle and a vehicle trailer combination are investigated. Simple models deliver the cornering resistance of vehicles with different drive concepts. The static stability factor provides a first approach to the overturning limit. Enhanced models take the compliance of the tires and the suspension as well as the suspension kinematics into account. A simple handling model is provided and discussed in detail.
