| Description | MARCA (MARkov Chain Analyzer) is a software package designed to facilitate the generation of large Markov chains and to compute transient probability distributions of the chain at different times as well as its stationary probability vector. The resources are effectively on loan to the process, to be returned when asked for by the operating system, or when the process has finished needing them. Unused resources are kept in a free resource pool. In terms of balls and buckets, a unit of resource may be represented as a ball, and a process or resource pool as a bucket. The movement of balls among the buckets represents the behavior of the resources as they are allocated and deallocated among the processes. The state of the system is represented in row vector form, the i th element of which denotes the number of balls in the ith bucket at the moment of interest. The master segment has several purposes.
