| Description | A method of determining the ultimate displacements at which a shotcrete tunnel lining acting in combination with anchors ceases to possess sufficient load bearing capacity is proposed. The method is based on an analytical solution of the plane contact problem using elasticity theory for a double-layer ring of arbitrary shape. The internal layer simulates a shotcrete lining, the external one simulates a rock zone strengthened by anchors. The shotcrete lining is taken to support the opening within a linearly elastic medium simulating the rock mass subject to the action of gravitational forces.
