Description	Diabetes is a metabolic ailment resulting from insulin resistance or the reduced secretion of insulin. Insulin disorders result in distorted carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism, and the increased levels of serum glucose. The usage of plant-based medicine has increased tremendously in both developing and developed countries over the last three decades. The wide range of plant-based chemical compounds points out that a variety of mechanisms might be engaged in the lowering of the blood glucose level. The present study aims to provide a comprehensive review of antidiabetic activity of the medicinal plants like Tridax procumbens, Euphorbia hirta, Bruguiera cylindrica, Cardiospermum halicacabum, Roylea cinerea, Taraxacum officinale, Clerodendrum longisepalum, Leptadenia hastate, Vinca rosea, Phoenix roebelenii, Pithecellobium dulce, Gongronema latifolium, Achyranthes aspera, Cinnamomum tamala, Agropyron repens, Anthocleista vogelii, Rubia cordifolia, Canthium parviflorum, Aegle marmelos, Pandamis fascicidaris, and Caralluma europaea. The efficiency of these medicinal plants may regulate diabetic metabolic abnormalities. This work would help researchers to choose potential herbal for diabetic treatment.
