Abstract	The preparation of the new compound N,N′-(dipicolyl)1,8-naphthylenediamine = DPNAP is reported which can serve as a tetradentate ligand. Complexes of DPNAP with Cu(II) and Ni(II) were prepared and their IR , visible UV spectra and magnetic moments were investigated.
