Abstract	From an aqueous solution of cupric acetate containing an excess of KSCN and hexamethy- lenetetramine crystals of the title compound could be obtained. An X-ray structure analysis showed that the cuprate(II) anion has trigonal bipyramidal geometry. The three equatorial positions are occupied by NCS groups, the axial positions by the hexamethylenetetramine molecules
