Abstract	Le monde est confronté aujourd’hui à des défis majeurs, et les effets de la récession économique se feront sentir dans nos sociétés pendant des années. Il est d’usage de mesurer le bien-être des nations par le produit intérieur brut (PIB) par habitant. Les variations de cet indicateur peuvent être le résultat d’une évolution de la productivité du travail (le PIB par heure travaillée) et de l’utilisation de la main-d’oeuvre (le nombre d’heures travaillées par personne employée et l’emploi par habitant). Le ralentissement de la productivité du travail émoussait déjà la croissance avant la crise, et les données sur la période 2007–09 montrent l’effet de la récession sur le travail et le capital. En 2010, une croissance généralisée a marqué le début d’une reprise mondiale. Le rythme de cette reprise varie toutefois entre les pays de l’OCDE, dont la plupart sont encore aux prises avec un chômage élevé et doivent impérativement trouver de nouvelles sources durables de croissance.
