Abstract	L’intégration locale des immigrés est essentiellement une question de gestion du changement. Pour assurer leur intégration effective sur le marché du travail, il faut les aider à gérer les mutations rapides qui surviennent dans leur propre vie et veiller parallèlement à ce que la collectivité locale évolue et s’adapte aux transformations consécutives pour sa population et son tissu urbain, ce dont devront tenir compte des mesures de gouvernance efficaces. Les immigrés ont notamment besoin d’indications claires pour s’orienter entre les différents services qui faciliteront leur adaptation à une nouvelle vie. Les localités doivent aussi être conscientes des transformations touchant la population immigrée et élaborer de nouveaux mécanismes pour tirer le meilleur parti de leurs compétences et supprimer simultanément les obstacles superflus à l’emploi. Le présent chapitre examine les activités des intervenants locaux dans chacun des cinq pays étudiés; il s’attarde sur l’innovation et les bonnes pratiques et recense par ailleurs les problèmes courants et les lacunes persistantes.
