NDLI: Performance économique et principaux enjeux

Abstract	Après une période de rattrapage entre le milieu des années 80 et 2000, le processus s’est brutalement interrompu. La croissance de la production a été faible en 2005. Bien qu’une certaine reprise soit attendue en 2006, les perspectives à court terme sont médiocres. De plus, le déficit budgétaire reste à un niveau trop élevé pour êtres viable. Pour assainir les finances publiques et retrouver une plus forte croissance, un certain nombre de mesures structurelles sont nécessaires. On examinera dans ce chapitre quatre enjeux essentiels : i) assurer la viabilité des finances publiques; ii) faire en sorte que le système éducatif soit plus performant ; iii) moderniser l’économie en améliorant l’enseignement supérieur, la formation et l’innovation; iv) créer un environnement plus dynamique pour les entreprises grâce à des réformes structurelles des marchés de produits et du marché du travail.
