Abstract	Ce chapitre décrit les normes techniques appliquées par les États-Unis pour protéger les tortues lors de la pêche aux crevettes. Les exportateurs des crevettes destinées aux États-Unis doivent être certifiés comme respectant les mêmes objectifs environnementaux. En raison de la différence des conditions écologiques locales, le Costa Rica a rencontré des difficultés pour utiliser le dispositif américain. Les efforts pour trouver une solution acceptable aux deux pays sont décrits.
