Abstract	Cet indicateur s’intéresse aux élèves situés au bas de l’échelle de compétence en mathématiques, selon les résultats du cycle 2003 du Programme international pour le suivi des acquis des élèves (PISA). Il présente les pourcentages d’élèves classés aux niveaux de compétence les plus faibles dans l’ensemble des pays et dans chaque pays. Il cherche également à déterminer si le milieu socio-économique des élèves influe sur le risque de compter au nombre des « mauvais » élèves en mathématiques. Enfin, il analyse les performances en lecture des élèves les plus faibles en mathématiques pour déterminer si leurs faibles performances dans cette matière sont le reflet de difficultés scolaires plus générales.
