| Abstract | La situation du marché du secteur de la viande se caractérise d’une manière générale par des prix nominaux à la production élevés, qui s’expliquent, du côté de la demande, par la hausse des revenus découlant de la croissance rapide dans les pays en développement et, du côté de l’offre, par les coûts élevés des intrants, notamment des céréales fourragères, de l’énergie consommée et de la main d’œuvre. L’effet combiné de la hausse des prix à la production et de l’augmentation des coûts de production a tendance à encourager la production dans les pays en développement, où prédominent des systèmes de production à faible consommation d’intrants. La croissance de la production de viande ralentit, notamment celle des volailles qui par le passé avait enregistré les taux de croissance de la production les plus importants. Dans les pays en développement, la demande en viande reste forte en raison de l’augmentation des revenus et de l’essor de l’urbanisation, qui modifient les régimes alimentaires au profit d’éléments nutritifs et de protéines d’origine animale. La consommation a augmenté de manière considérable au cours de la dernière décennie dans un grand nombre de pays émergeants, en particulier la Chine et d’autres pays asiatiques à la croissance rapide. En revanche, la consommation de viande par habitant est restée stable dans les pays de l’OCDE au cours des dix dernières années. En ce qui concerne la volaille, la viande porcine, la viande ovine et la viande de buffle, la production et les échanges devraient augmenter à court terme, mais pour ce qui est de la viande bovine, ils devraient dans un premier temps être freinés par la réduction des effectifs du cheptel opérée ces dernières années dans les grandes régions exportatrices, et notamment dans les pays développés. Les pays en développement renforceront encore leur position en imposant des changements dans la production, les échanges et la consommation de viande au niveau mondial. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
