Abstract	Pour rester compétitifs dans l’économie mondiale d’aujourd’hui, les pays doivent réaliser pleinement le potentiel de tous leurs citoyens, et s’assurer que les hommes comme les femmes acquièrent les compétences adéquates et puissent en faire un usage productif. De nombreux pays oeuvrent à l’obtention de la parité des sexes sur le lieu de travail et dans l’accès à l’emploi. Dans l’éducation aussi, nombre de pays sont parvenus à combler les écarts entre les sexes en termes de résultats d’apprentissage. Toutefois, comme le met en lumière ce rapport, même lorsque garçons et filles font jeu égal en mathématiques et en sciences, leurs attitudes à l’égard de l’apprentissage et leurs aspirations pour leur avenir diffèrent sensiblement – autant d’éléments qui ont une incidence significative sur leurs décisions concernant la poursuite de leurs études et sur leurs choix de carrière.
