Abstract	Les pays émergents jouent dans l’économie mondiale un rôle grandissant qui est appelé à croître dans les années à venir. Il est donc important de prendre en compte les économies de ces pays dans toute évaluation globale de l’évolution des inégalités dans le monde. Le présent chapitre examine les schémas des inégalités et les problèmes qui s’y rattachent dans les principales économies émergentes. Il commence par un bref aperçu de ces schémas dans une sélection de pays, avant d’examiner plus en détail les principaux facteurs à l’origine des inégalités, puis d’exposer dans la section suivante les principales caractéristiques et difficultés des cadres institutionnels sous-jacents. Il énonce enfin quelques-uns des grands défis que doivent relever les pouvoirs publics des économies émergentes pour améliorer la distribution des revenus et réduire les inégalités tout en favorisant des emplois plus nombreux et meilleurs.
