| Abstract | The investigation on sheet beam electron optics system has been the bottle-neck techniques for the development of sheet beam klystron (SBK). In this paper, the new type of sheet beam electron gun and its electron optics system with high transmission rate for the W-band sheet beam klystron has been developed in IECAS. The electron gun with the ellipse cathode and focusing electrode are designed in detail, which has the beam aspect ratio about 25:1 after one dimension compression. The uniform magnetic focusing scheme is used for the sheet electron beam transformation. With the beam voltage of 20-82 kV ,and beam current of 0.5-4.2A, the experimental transmission rate of sheet beam electron tube manufactured is more than 98% with the drift length 100mm, which is more appropriate to use in the WSBK soon. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
