Abstract	Considers the circulation of ideas in Sardinia in the second half of the XVIII Century with particular attention to the book as a tool of popularization and acquisition of cultural stimuli. Studies investigating this field are few and as a consequence this article deals with unknown ground. This work introduces the study of inventories post mortem containing lists of books and transcriptions of donations of works on press to the university libraries. The documentation to which we refer is available in the state archives of Cagliari, Sassari and Turin and in the university libraries of Cagliari and Sassari and it is obviously conspicuous and complex, partly even not inventoried. Therefore the present work intends to state the elaboration of a still reduced range of data, also from the quantitative point of view, with the purpose to set the bases for a more articulated future investigation.
