| Abstract | The paper had analyzed LUCC of Chongqing urban in the past 30 years using the RS and GIS technology. The changes of the temperature, precipitation, sunshine, humidity, wind speed and air pressure of Chongqing urban district in the past 30 years were obtained through analyzing the data of the weather station in Chongqing urban. The process of climatic change that responded to the LUCC was concluded. The result indicated: in the past 30 years, the area of cultivated land had decreased rapidly; on the contrary, the construction land had experienced a fast-urbanized process. During the period from 1978 to 2007, the annual average temperature, the hottest month temperature and the coldest month temperature in Chongqing urban district had experienced the process of rising unceasingly. At the same time, the annual precipitation had experienced a process of reducing unceasingly. The climate of Chongqing urban district had an obvious response to area expand and population increase of the city, they could cause and intensify the effect of “Hot Island”, “Dry Island” and “ Fog Island” from a long-term. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
