| Abstract | In this paper, a novel sensing method using electromagnetic resonance coupling to realize secure, comfortable and energy-saving space is proposed. Proposed sensing method is especially suitable for our living space since it is powerful in sensing range of 0–1[m]. It has big advantages compared to the current sensors such as camera, LRF, pressure sensor, RFID, ZPS and capacitive sensor since it is strong to illumination change, has no occlusion because of high insulation permeability, can be contact-less, no attachment required and sensing range comparatively wider than capacitive sensor. In this paper, basic concepts of the proposed sensing method are introduced with two practical application systems, high performance human detection system and efficient wireless power transmission system. High performance human detection system is the system which could differentiate human from other living natures or high conductivity and permittivity materials which is not possible in current pyroelectric sensor or capacitive sensor. It could realize effective range over 0.2[m] with no occlusion and no attachment required to human. Efficient wireless power transmission is the system which realizes highly efficient power transmission for mobile targets by combination of both power transmission and position sensing. It could be the basic technology for an indoor and outdoor smart grid system in the future. To verify the feasibility of the applications, some simulation and experimental results are shown. |

National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources which is not just a repository with search/browse facilities but provides a host of services for the learner community. It is sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Education, Government of India, through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with least effort and in minimum time. NDLI provides user group-specific services such as Examination Preparatory for School and College students and job aspirants. Services for Researchers and general learners are also provided. NDLI is designed to hold content of any language and provides interface support for 10 most widely used Indian languages. It is built to provide support for all academic levels including researchers and life-long learners, all disciplines, all popular forms of access devices and differently-abled learners. It is designed to enable people to learn and prepare from best practices from all over the world and to facilitate researchers to perform inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is developed, operated and maintained from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
