Abstract	We propose to use a nonlinear, time varying and stochastic dynamic system model to design adaptive systems. This model is general enough to describe most of the adaptive signal processing problems. By applying an appropriately chosen system noise in the model, very fast settling fifters can be designed. Possibilities of solution of nonlinear observer and filtering problems are also investigated. It shows that both of these tasks require a huge computational capacity. For this reason, it can primarily be used to design small, critical parts of larger systems. This system design method may result in a fast settling filter with affordable computational burden. An observer and a filter design example with simulation and application results is also provided.
