Abstract	Logistics is a human and process-oriented business. The service performance of logistics companies is heavily relied on the abilities and know-how of logistics operators and managers to organize and manage organizational resources. Due to the increasing complexity and fast changing customer service requirement, reliance on human experience and know-how to manage dynamic logistics services has become inadequate. In this paper, a real-time knowledge based system, namely A RFID based knowledge management systems (RFID-KMS) is designed to enhance the logistics performances by means of providing real-time knowledge support to the logistics operators. A case study has been conducted at a large Hong Kong logistics service provider, Eastern Worldwide Co. Ltd. (EWW). A performance evaluation of RFID-KMS is performed after the pilot test of the system. The result indicated that the system not only enhances the productivity of the company but also facilitates the creation of an organizational learning atmosphere.
